El Tecnológico de Antioquia (TdeA) miembro organizador de la 9ª LACHEC

El Tecnológico de Antioquia – I.U. formó parte del comité organizador de la 9º Conferencia Latinoamericana y del Caribe para la Internacionalización de la Educación Superior (LACHEC) desarrollada en Medellín – Colombia del 21 al 23 de noviembre.

LACHEC es una iniciativa de la Red Colombiana para la Internacionalización de la Educación Superior – RCI- que desde el año 2009, con la articulación de las Instituciones de Educación Superior que la conforman, ha logrado consolidarse como el evento académico de su especialidad más relevante de la región.

En esta versión de LACHEC, el TdeA a través de la Dirección de Internacionalización a cargo de la Directora de la oficina, Carolina Franco Arroyave, se encargó de liderar el comité logístico de dicho evento, haciendo parte del comité general organizador, que también contó con el apoyo de otras 5 Instituciones de Educación Superior de Medellín y el área metropolitana.

LACHEC 2017 se realizó los días 21, 22 y 23 de noviembre, en el Gran Salón de Plaza Mayor, Medellín Convenciones y Exposiciones. La agenda del evento se articuló alrededor de la temática la Internacionalización como potenciador de la Investigación, la Innovación y la Interculturalidad, para el Desarrollo: D=(I+I+I)i.

International Mobility for the Universidades Federal Grande Dourados (Brazil)

We would like to inform that it is open the period of receipt of documents for the application of students interested in conducting International Mobility for the Universidade Federal Grande Dourados during the first half of 2018 (March-July).

The Federal University of Grande Dourados (UFGD) is a public higher education institution located in the city of Dourados, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. The UFGD was classified by the MEC through the General Index of Courses as the best university in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul for 7 consecutive years. For more information about the university go to the website ‘www.ufgd.edu.br‘.

CHAMADA 05.2017 – UNIVERSIDADE FEDERAL DA GRANDE DOURADOS

Collaboration between UNACH (Ecuador) and ULPGC (Spain) within the framework of the PONCHO project

With the aim of extending and consolidating collaboration with the Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Davinia Sánchez, member of the Editorial Board, the Publications and Intellectual Property Unit of the Universidad Nacional de Chimborazo (Riobamba, Ecuador), active participant in the project PONCHO, held a meeting with the Vice-rector of Communication and Social Projection of the Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, María Jesús García Domínguez and the Director of Communication and the Service of Publications and Scientific Dissemination (SPDC), Marina Díaz Peralta, in agreement with its strategic line of internationalization, in order to extend and consolidate the process of collaboration of the publishing stamps of both universities.

Participation of a member of PONCHO (ULPGC) in the Academic and Knowledge Sumit (San Salvador)

On 5 and 6 October, the Academic and Knowledge Summit was held at the University of El Salvador (San Salvador) under the motto “Towards the construction of a Euro-Latin American and Caribbean common space of higher education. Science, technology and innovation”. The goal shown in this motto intended to be achieved through the generation of knowledge, integration and strategic bi-regional cooperation.

During the conference, our colleague Elena Lugli, collaborator of the PONCHO project at the Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, discussed the theme “The interaction between Higher Education, Research and Innovation in the establishment of public policy priorities”.WhatsApp Image 2017-10-05 at 06.50.02

Practical Training at Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (25 to 29 September 2017)

The training week for Latin American academic and administrative personnel (WP3) was held from 25 to 29 September 2017 at the Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) (Spain).

In the framework of the Poncho Project (Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education), the ULPGC hosted some members of the PONCHO training program for some Latin American project partners.

The main topics discussed were:

  • Internationalization and Research
  • Organization of International Offices
  • The Management Structures of an Erasmus +
  • Mobility as an internationalization tool
  • The structure, activities and tools of the International Relations Office
  • University research and cooperation institutes

The one-week training program was aimed at 11 staff members from 10 International Office of different Higher Education Institutions from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay and Peru.

This was also an opportunity for PONCHO participants to interrelate as much with each other as with staff from the ULPGC. In addition, they had the opportunity to participate actively in the institutional event of the 30th anniversary of the Erasmus program.

Practical Training at Universidade do Porto (19 to 23 June 2017)

From 19th to 23rd June 2017 the Practical Training for academic and administrative staff from Latin America (WP3) was carried out at Universidade do Porto (Portugal).

Within the scope of the Poncho Project (Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education), Universidade do Porto hosted from 19th to 23rd of June the physical component of the PONCHO training programme for some of the Latin American project Partners.

The main topics covered were:

  • Internationalisation Strategies in the context of HE
  • Organisation of International Offices
  • Communication and Dissemination strategies
  • Project Management and EU funding opportunities for partner Countries

The one week training Programme was targeted at 5 staff members from the International Office of 5 different Higher Education Institutions from Brazil, Uruguay, Bolivia and Paraguay.

This was also the opportunity for the PONCHO participants to network among each other and with Universidade do Porto staff from the International Relations Office and other departments such as communication and public relations.

Practical Training at Jan Kochanowski University from (6 to 9 June 2017)

From 6 to 9 June 2017 the Practical Training (WP3) was carried out at Jan Kochanowski University (Poland).

The partners participated in several activities, including:

  • meetings with foreign students about their experiences with Erasmus+ Programme
  • meeting with Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Education
  • presentation by Office of International Cooperation and International Research Programmes to the benefit of the internationalization of UJK, the Office’s functioning, cooperation of UJK with foreign units, research projects, good practices, trainings, etc.
  • talks to Erasmus students who discussed about their experiences with students’ transfer between universities.

Presentation of PONCHO Project to the Goiana Network of International Education (Brazil)

On May 17, 2017, the Poncho Project was presented to the  in a meeting of the Network in the Coordination of International Affairs of the Federal University of Goiás (UFG), Goiânia. The online courses offered on the Project platform were mentioned. On that occasion, a copy of the Logical Framework Matrix, included by the Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, was presented to the participants in the discussion of the module “How to present a competitive project”. It has been explained that this is the format used by the European Commission for the submission of proposals.

The information was considered very interesting, mainly because some of the institutions that are still in the initial stage of their internationalization process are part of the Network.
